Housewarming Gifts
There's an old Jewish tradition of offering gifts to a family entering a new home: "bread so that you shall never know hunger; salt, so your life shall always have flavor; and sugar so your life shall always have sweetness." As Hope enters its new home at Vint Hill, we may not need bread, salt, or sugar. But we sure need things like chairs, carpet, equipment, paint, signs, and much more!
If God has blessed you in a special way, and if you are able to share that blessing in the form of a "housewarming gift" for our Hope family, would you be willing to give above and beyond your regular offering as we celebrate this transition for our church?
Below is a list of housewarming gifts, large and small. Just click on a gift that fits your interest and price range. You'll be taken to a page where you can enter contact information and your debit/credit card number to send the gift. It's that easy!
Thank you so much for your generosity, encouragement, and partnership as we continue to share God's life-changing love with our friends and neighbors at our new home.
| $20 Plastic Chair |
Durable, comfortable "Lifetime" seats that are easy to clean for our classrooms. (Each "ticket" = 1 chair. Buy one or buy many!) |
|
| $40 Fabric Chair |
Very comfortable and attractive seats for our time of worship and learning in the auditorium. (Each "ticket" = 1 chair. Buy one or buy many!) |
|
| $100 Paint |
Wow! Not what you expect when you walk into this old warehouse, right? Warm, fresh colors make each space feel clean and welcoming. Every wall, door, bathroom, baseboard, and even the railing out front has a fresh face. (5 gifts of paint needed.) |
|
| $150 Tile Entry |
A solid first impression as you enter our doors. And it provides a great place for shaking off the dirt of the road (or the snow of winter!). Feels like home already! |
|
| $200 Office Cabinet |
Our old storage cabinet just wasn't sturdy enough to make the move. This steel cabinet will be able to hold the weight. |
|
| $250 Stage Curtain |
A 24-foot dramatic backdrop that also happens to cover over a very large (and ugly!) electrical panel at the front of our auditorium. |
|
| $300 Video Cabling |
It takes some pretty spiffy wiring and equipment to get our song lyrics, sermon PowerPoints, and other images moving from computers to our 3 linked screens. |
|
| $350 Door Hardware |
Classroom and office doors received new hardware, since we found many locked doors with missing keys. |
|
| $400 Kitchenette |
While most of the kitchenette was donated, we still needed countertops to make this space hospitable, hosting freshly brewed coffee and baked goods to help you feel right at home! |
|
| $425 Street Signage |
Pointing the way to our new facility, from both Rogues Road and Vint Hill Road. We want people to find us each week! |
|
| $500 Electrical Wiring |
Probably miles of wiring are now masterly woven behind the scenes for our various needs. |
|
| $550 Carpeting |
Each of our classrooms and offices now has a fresh, clean look with new carpeting. (1 "ticket" = 1 room of carpet; 8 rooms of carpet needed.) |
|
| $650 Electrical Equipment |
Our Master Electrician has been busily fitting our new space for our electrical needs — creating switches, moving outlets, updating breakers, installing fixtures, etc. |
|
| $900 Building Signage |
A big, bold, beautiful announcement on the front and side of our new facility telling the community, "We are here!" |
|
| $1000 Small Video Screen |
This smaller LCD is a twin to the screen we have been using in the Basement; the two of them will now be used in the auditorium for those sitting toward the sides so that everyone can see clearly. |
|
| $1500 Large Video Screen |
There's no room for the old projector screens (which were falling apart anyway), so we made the move to brighter, crisper LCDs. This large screen will be visible to most people in the auditorium. |
|
| $2200 ¼ Laminate Flooring |
Our auditorium now has a comfortable, warm feeling thanks to wood laminate flooring. This multi-purpose surface is also easy to clean! (Each gift represents ¼ of the flooring in the auditorium; 4 gifts of laminate flooring needed.) |
