Hope Christian Fellowship is a dynamic, Bible-believing church family impacting Warrenton and the surrounding communities of northern Virginia. We're people just like you — enjoying life's journey, learning and growing, and discovering how the life-changing love of God impacts us every day. At Hope, we don't care where people come from, how they dress, how much money they have, or anything like that. We just care about people, because every one of us matters to God.
If you are looking for a place to belong, learn, and serve, come and see what God might have for you at Hope!
Our Purpose
Jesus offered a couple of really powerful instructions to his followers. One of them, sometimes called "the Great Commandment," describes God's desire for our relationship with him and others. Another one, "the Great Commission," explains our task of helping people become contagious followers of Jesus. These two instructions help define our purpose as a church family. Our goal is to help people love god passionately, love others sacrificially, and empower disciples to make more disciples.
The Great Commandment
"'Love the Lord your god with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:37-40)
The Great Commission
"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
Drawing from these passages, our purpose as a church can be summarized with the following statement:
Hope Christian Fellowship exists to help people...
- KNOW God intimately,
- GROW in relationship with him and others, and
- GO share God's life-changing love with the world.
Our Story
Hope Christian Fellowship began with a desire to invest God's blessings back into our community so that people could discover his love and grace.
Our church started when God planted the idea in the minds of a group of folks worshiping at Warrenton Bible Fellowship, another terrific church in our community. After a year of prayer, brainstorming, and planning, and with the blessing and support of WBF, Hope opened its doors to the community in October 2005 under the leadership of our founding Pastor, Joe Warring.
The Lord has blessed us with some incredible people, and we've enjoyed the spiritual adventure together. In April 2007, Dr. Scott Heine took the reins as our lead Pastor, and we've continued to refine our understanding of the unique task to which God has called us here in northern Virginia.
In the spring of 2011, Hope moved into its new facility in Vint Hill between Warrenton and Gainesville. It's a converted warehouse with a long history and plenty of character. What it lacks in curb appeal, the place more than makes up for it in terms of warmth, functionality, and God's abundant blessings.
As Hope continues forward, we're holding tight to God's guidance and exploring opportunities to serve our community with his love.
